PARC CEIRW – MORRISTON

Outline planning consent for circa 300 homes and community park

This complex project involved 4 separate landowners and required extensive dialogue with Natural Resources Wales (NRW) in connection with the closure of a former landfill facility on the site. Once agreement had been reached with NRW, discussions were then required with the local planning authority on viability to ensure that an appropriate level of planning gain was applied to the scheme.

The outline planning application was ultimately recommended for approval by planning officers but turned down by the planning committee. The resulting appeal was then upheld by the Planning Inspectorate and consent was granted.

The scheme will completely transform an old sandstone quarry into a 4 acre landscaped community park, provide 300 new homes and give significant local highway and education enhancements.
